PURPOSE
To improve the quality, quantity, comprehensiveness and continuity of public health nursing care provided by the local health departments in concert with current health care trends and public health nursing practice.
OBJECTIVES
- To meet annually to provide membership a medium for continuing education and peer exchange.
- To establish and maintain effective communication and coordination between and among local public health agencies, North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Health Directors Association, academia and other agencies interested in promoting health.
- To appraise the membership of the legal, legislative and professional actions which impact on or pertain to public health nurses in North Carolina.
- To actively support the professional status of public health nurses in North Carolina.
MEMBERSHIP
The N.C. Association of Public Health Nurse Administrators consists of RN's in leadership or administrative roles responsible for public health and academia programs.
